This is a map of an obsession, traced from its romantic peak to its quiet interrogation. Borrowing Hemingway’s famous prose as a mirror, I examine the Paris that lingers in my mind long after the physical connection has severed. The Luxembourg Garden and the Pantheon are no longer just places I walked through as a student; they have become icons of a past life that I carry like a “moveable feast”—sometimes as a gift, sometimes as a weight. I am questioning the boundary between a genuine cultural identity and a beautiful mirage. This work continues the dialogue of cultural dislocation I began with Vancouver May Never be the Poetics Between Montparnasse and Mongkok.
